During my 35 years in the building industry, I developed a desire to help home owners by providing them with a true understanding of their investment or potential investment. Whether my assessment affirms the stability and security of a home or unveils hazards or concerns, knowledge is power and you have the right to know.
I began my career in framing and siding spending my first 18 years learning the key components that create the structural integrity of a home. I was then promoted to field superintendent overseeing initial installation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and supervising multiple framing and siding crews. This led to a position of Project Manager where I managed all phases of the construction process for over 600 homes during that time. During those 35 years, I gained an intimate knowledge of the foundation and elements that make a home safe, solid and comfortable. I became well versed in current building practices, warranties and the proper installation and maintenance of framing and siding, HVAC, plumbing, sewage, electrical, insulation, drywall, painting, finish carpentry, flooring and more. My knowledge expands beyond residential homes to outdoor structures such as decks, gazebos, workshops and detached garages. Over the years, I’ve developed personal relationships with many contractors, as well as city/county inspectors I can rely on for guidance and cost analysis. All of this knowledge and experience allows me to perform the most thorough, informed inspection possible. I notice things that inspectors without building backgrounds might overlook.
